Tips to an eco-friendlier lifestyle

If you are someone who cares about our environment and wants to create an eco-friendlier lifestyle, then you are in the right place. Sometimes it can be overwhelming knowing where to begin and if you are anything like me, it can be a challenging task because you almost feel like whatever you do may not be enough. Well I am here to let you know, that even a small change in your lifestyle can really make all the different in the world. When I first began my journey on living an eco-friendlier life, I began with very small and simple tasks that eventually lead me to where I am today.
Some of these tips include:
Donate unused items
If you don’t use a product or wear a piece of clothing anymore, give it to a charity shop or someone you know would make use of it to help reduce waste!
Save water
According to the EPA, the average American family typically uses over 300 gallons of water every day. Try taking quicker showers, turn off the water when washing in between dishes, and wash clothes once a week instead of every day.
Reuse and Recycle
Reuse your products instead of buying new ones. Choose reusable products instead of single-use products like plastic water bottles. Buy a reusable grocery bag that you can take with you every time you shop, this helps reduce the number of plastic bags used when going to the grocery store. Whenever possible recycle unwanted items that can’t be reused.
Transportation
Transportation is one the largest sources of global warming pollution. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency greenhouse gas emissions from transportation account for about 29% of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, making it the largest contributor of U.S. GHG emissions. Instead of driving, try walking and biking more. You can cut down on air pollution and help reduce emissions!
